Default tracking the corruption

I remember awhile back different people talking about the choke point in the quest tracking the corruption for hm. I thought it was in a Minister Cho estate quest thread but I am unable to find it.

Would the people that posted the best way to approach the tracking corruption quest please post again. Where to go to at the first. I am doing this with heroes and am having a very difficult time with it.

Or if someone has a good approach for this other than a choke point.
I know there is a thread on this, but it was not for heroes.
Thank you for you help.

Hey, I just beat Tracking the Corruption in HM with relative ease

I didn't take an ss of when I beat it but this is the team build I used

Was really easy, just camp out at the South East corner and that causes the Am Fah to ball up near where Chi (?) is

You'll begin to see your panic mesmer destroying the Am Fah and it'll be a piece of cake just killing them

Hope this helps, good luck!

The purple arrows on the compass show the movement of the enemy groups as they rush out of the portals. By holding in the area around Pan you only face enemies from a single direction.

This quest in HM is the hardest in the game IMO. I tried fighting in all corners but, keep failing because all groups get aggro no matter where you stand. This is with 7 heros and even 7 real people. I even tried with a perma, mop, and 100 blades. This works sorta but, when you kill the 3 massive groups at once, two more big groups spawn instantly and just whip the party.

ArenaNet needs to tone down this quest. This quest is a roadblock for sure.

Edit: Ill give it another try using the methods posted above. Thanks for posting those.

Is there a reason for doing these quests in HM?

One: Hard Mode is more interesting than Normal Mode.
Two: The quests can be repeated once more as a Hard Mode quest.

There's a certain degree of luck involved with getting the healers from the other side not to drag their mobs around the wrong way and pincer you and not ending up with a big DoTAoE slipping through on your heroes.

I don't have a lot to add to what's already posted except that EoE does a fantastic job of eliminating Am Fah. Do be warned however that Am Fah are human, so you need solid healing to keep up with it.

Also, I kind When Kappa Attack HM harder than this. The second step is in a much tighter spot than Tracking the Corruption, and the kappa have much stronger caster hate to dump on your backline. Maelstrom + tight space = dead heroes.

The smallextra HM reward and a sense of having completed the quest. Some of us treat a game as a list of checkboxes that need to be ticked off

My biggest problem was that I could get the first group to clump up but then the casters would always hang in the back so that all I was blocking were the melee's and if I broke aggro to get them the rest of the party would get wiped. Even with Cons and summons I'd then have another group merge and just all out overwhelm.

This quest is seriously insane in HM. Shouldn't have to rely on "LUCK" to get by it. Come on Anet.

Just wanted to thank you. I've been trying this for so long, so many different builds and ideas and none of them worked. Up until this point I haven't tried that corner, but that corner and your builds worked great. I ended up tanking them the best I could with my warrior while everyone else tore them apart.

Failed twice because I let too many warriors and assassins through, but the third time was perfect.

Not sure if they fixed this, but if you unequip all staves and wands from yourself + heroes, the AI won't cast some AoE spells (mostly mesmers). Don't ask why.

This made it WAY easier to complete in HM.

This was the build that worked for me too. Its so funny how easy a quest is once you get the build+strat right...

And all it cost me was about a day of trying and 30 plat equipping the right heroes

With the last update they removed the monks from that quest.
So everything dies quite fast now.
